Introduction for health workers
This section is for health workers who record basic health services in the eRecord (DHIS2) system: staff at health posts, primary health care centres, urban health centres, community health units and hospital outpatient departments.
What you do in the system
As a health worker you work with individual service recipients (सेवाग्राही) rather than with aggregate numbers. Your day-to-day tasks are:
- Register the service recipient — a person is enrolled once, and that enrollment is reused for every later visit. See Enrollment.
- Complete the master register (मुल दर्ता) — the master register entry determines which services are available for that person and is the basis on which monthly counts by age group are produced. See master register.
- Record the service you provided — in the program stage that matches the service: OPD, immunization, nutrition, ANC, delivery, PNC, family planning, laboratory and so on. See OPD for the outpatient flow.
- Work from your assigned list — filtered working lists show the people assigned to you today, so you do not have to search for them each time.
Why the recording order matters
Monthly reports (including HMIS 9.3 and 9.4) are produced from what was recorded during service delivery. Two habits keep those reports correct:
- Register and complete the master register before recording services. If a service is recorded first, the system may show a validation warning and the person may be missing from age-group counts.
- Correct details on the existing enrollment instead of enrolling the same person again. A person is enrolled once in their lifetime; duplicates overstate service recipient counts.
